Well, I'm late, but I'm here.
I'm still the stubborn holdout as an Arcane Mage, although I haven't been getting to do much instancing lately... just haven't had much time for WoW
My perspective is that for shorter fights (up to and including the five-man bosses... I haven't been to Kara yet, much to my disappointment), Arcane is king; absolutely overwhelming burst damage. That being said, I need to work on upping my game a bit... I tend to lose a lot of DpS due to not being sure when to open up, mis-clicking targets and having to hunt for them, and just general blithering (along with the fun stuff that everybody has to deal with, like lag :/).
