But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)
Many think this requires a seminary degree or at least a Bible knowledge well beyond their own. NOT TRUE. It says to give your reason for your hope - not a bunch of memorized verses, nor a systematic theology of salvation. In those tough times - Why do you have hope? What promises are you clinging to? How can you believe that you will come through? You - not others in the past - not others at your church - you.
