“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you." Matthew 6:14 (NLT)
I love the way the Message puts it:
"In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can't get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others." Matthew 6:14 (MSG)
Forgiveness is such a big part of Christian life that Jesus says his Father looks harshly on those who do not forgive. This is in the parable of the unmerciful servant in Matthew 18 - where he concludes with:
"This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart." Matthew 18:35 (NIV)
WOW!! Father forgive me my trespasses as I forgive those who trespass against me. Amen.
