Proverbs 23:6-7
"Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee."

The Bible has several examples of people it is not good to company with, but one that is often overlooked or made excuses for is the one who has wealth acquired through corrupt vision -- spending their time and energies focused on things other than what God wants focused on -- but is giving of that wealth to others.

Such people receive a lot of honor in this world, and it can be tempting to look at all the good their gifts can do and wish we had the power to do the same, but here we are warned this is a snare. Not only does such a one not really care about his friends and beneficiaries since their heart stays with their wealth, but they can encourage their corrupt vision in others as well by making people feel envious or inferior with their appearance of doing good in their own power. There is no substitute, though, that any man's hands can bring about that will in any way compare to the true blessing of God if we resist such temptations and keep our vision fixed solely on Him.

Matthew 6:1-4 ;)

Goes along perfectly with what you said River. :D

Thank you for the reminder. It is always nice to get noticed here on earth, however we need to remember that our reward is in heaven.
