so Wow keeps crashing on me... and before I go pay someone $100 to look at it and be unable to fix it... does the error:

==============================================================================
World of WarCraft: Retail Build (build 13329)

Exe: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe
Time: Jan 2, 2011 1:52:40.648 PM
User: benjamin
Computer: BENJAMIN-PC
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:10258DB5

The instruction at "0x10258DB5" referenced memory at "0x365BFFA0".
The memory could not be "read".

Does that mean anything to anyone?

Did you run the repair tool in the wow directory? I would suggest you start there. Then I would take that message and search the technical support forums for any answers from them.

Sometimes a big hammer can debug your computer as well. :)
You can just send me the $100 for that bit of tech support.

Ben -- I've experienced that error many, many, many times. For me, it always has meant WoW + heat == RAM fails.

Solutions: First try doing what Adam said.

Then, if the problem persists, it could be that you just need to blow out your computer with compressed air. If that's the case, as soon as you get the error the first time, open your case, start blowing.

It could also be caused by fan failure. Check all your fans to make sure they are working. If they aren't, replace them.

Finally, run a RAM diagnostic. It could just be that your RAM is either faulty, lower quality, or has become damaged. If the RAM diagnostic fails, replace the RAM.

As a game, WoW is brutally hard on RAM. If you have a RAM issue, WoW will eventually find it.
