"Socialism: A Clear and Present Danger"

/sigh It did.

"Exclusive free webcast reveals where President Obama's socialist agenda is taking over our country!" I love that. Whether or not you see it as socialism is dependent on the way you see things... but he IS the President, so I would expect his "agenda" to take over our country.

This is crazy. =P

I believe the idea is some of the president's initiatives act beyond the powers our government has given him hence the claim of him taking power. The debate of unconstitutional parts in Obamacare, his administration's refusal to enforce DOMA etc. Liberals will do the same in accusing republicans of acting outside law (Bush Guantanamo or whatever). I take no offense to a claim of elected officials acting beyond their office's powers because inevitably and eventually some people in power will. I would also say as Obama has denied accusations of socialist leanings I'd expect people would want to present facts to the contrary lest any "agenda" be sneaked past us. However rather than debating the law/constitution morass, which is usually beyond me (and usually to anyone but a lawyer), I take the moral and common sense approaches as to whether that person's acts are just. As such I disagree with Obama.

I get several conservative e-mail groups e-mails, including the above. I even had Grassfire on my forum signature at one point (removed to make space for a banner a friend made me). While I most often agree with their base points my problem is most are overtly sensational in their phrasing. One can only impress the gravity of a situation on occasion less it's effect become repetitive and eventually ignored. Rather than "the sky is falling" in every e-mail I would much prefer them to present why I should be concerned in a more articulate, straight forward, manner even if the sky is actually falling. I have no doubt I will agree with some points in the video but as I am already morally against Obama and have no need to learn more adjectives, see a flag wave, or hear dramatic music I'll probably pass. I respect all organizations need to make money and I suppose it may edify me a bit to watch it but I just don't feel like sitting through overt marketing.
