Sneak Peak: bombadillo.net

Neirai the Forgiven

Christian Guilds List Manager
Awhile back we had a number of discussions about creating a website for critiquing and commenting on nerd or pop culture. Well, that website is still in its nascent form -- it's rough, it's still a bit ugly, and needs a lot of work.

It also has three articles up.

Take a peak. I'd love feedback, particularly on the website itself.

Dude, that's stinkin' awesome. I'm deeply in love with this topic: The stories men tell and what they tell us about the story God is telling. I believe strongly that, to the Christian eye, every story is really about God's story.

All three of these were excellent examples of literary criticism in service of the Kingdom. Keep these coming please. (And tell me how I can subscribe to follow this.)

I quoted this because this is the essence of what bombadillo.net is about.

To subscribe to bombadillo.net, just register on the website. If you're not too keen on doing that, wait a bit and I'll work on getting the Facebook/twitter login support up.

I just read your Green Lantern post. What a great example of finding faith in the secular. Thanks.

Just one question...is Green Lantern worth seeing? lol

I'm so excited to see Bombadillo.net coming together. I really wanted to be more involved with the site, but I'm stretched thin managing both ToJ and the CGA as it is and taking on additional responsibilities would be less than prudent right now.

Still, after I knock out a few projects currently in the works, I'll try to carve out some time and write some relevant articles (instead of the occasional rant).

I wish you all much success! Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Absostinkinlutely it is!

As long as you go in expecting a superpowered thrill ride and not something with the philosophical depth of Dark Knight.

Glad you enjoyed the article, too! :D

What!!!...No deep theological/philosophical message from a Green Lantern movie?! I suppose it is just a bunch of non-stop flash-bang...who wants to see that?

And by the way - is absostinkinlutely a real word? A great word whether it is real or not.

Perhaps it is just me:

jCarousel: No width/height set for items. This will cause an infinite loop. Aborting.

That was just the first error. I noticed about 3 that had to do with jCarousel (you guys and your jQuery parts). I'm running Firefox 6.0.1 on Windows 7. I can still see things, but I don't think it is as pretty as it is supposed to be.

Edit: Tried it again and it appears it is the same error each time (just pops up several times on load).
