Selling my Xbox & GC...what should I ask for?

Well the time has come to say goodbye to my Xbox and GC.

I'm planning on getting a Wii for the family, though they're still hard to find at this point.

I'm going to offer them as a package deal to friends and family first (that includes everyone here if you're interested), but I'm not sure what I should think about asking for. I'm not out to rip anyone off nor am I looking to make a profit, I'm just looking for an honest amount. If I can't find anyone to take it off my hands, I'll Ebay it.

Here's what I've got:

XBOX SYSTEM
  • Power & A/V cables
  • Two (2) Original controllers
  • XBox Live Beta Tester Kit
    • Ltd Edition Orange Memory Card
    • XBox Communicator
    • XBox Live Beta Tester Tshirt "I've Got Great Hands" front / "2002 Xbox Live Beta Tester" back, Size Large
  • Blue MicroCon Controller
  • Spirit Wireless Controller
  • Gamester Steering Wheel Controller
  • DVD Remote & Unit
  • 2005 Power Cord Replacement (MS Recall, new in box)
Games
  • Dungeons & Dragons Heroes
  • Forza Motorsport
  • Lego Star Wars
  • Voodoo Vince
  • Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance

GAME CUBE SYSTEM
  • Power & A/V cables
  • One (1) Original Purple Controller
  • Intech Controller
  • Memory Card that came w/ the System
  • Extra 32MB Memory Card
Games
Starfox Assault
The Sims (no manual)

The systems & peripherals are in great shape: no scratches, good working order, etc. Unless otherwise noted, all games have the box & manual.

My initial thought (after doing a brief seach of Ebay auctions) was to ask $150 or start an Ebay auction @ $100.

Thoughts and/or suggestions appreciated.

Thank you!

if u get/have a gamestop card u might see what they'll give u on credit towards a wii, but thats a fair asking price

The only place that's worse is trading books to Half Price Books.

I took THREE boxes full of books and they gave me...no joke, $4.

Then, of course, they turn around and make a HUGE profit.

Gamestop was definitely my first choice, but it's looking like Ebay now.

That's why I never sell my systems. I never get a good return. And considering I only buy games I know I'll like, it's not too bad. 5 years down the road I'll dig up my old GCN stuff and be like "whoa! SSBM!"

Actually, I just found my N64. But I just got my 360 so I'll be waiting awhile :p

Gamestop will give me $40 for the Xbox and $20 for the GC. That's a bit crappy.

I walked into a Gamestop (or EB Games, I can't remember, but it's the same company) the other day and asked if they had any used copies of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz for the Wii. They did, and they were trying to sell it for $46. No lie. Four dollars off a $50 game. And you know they bought it back for $25 or less.

So lame.

I bought Zelda for the Wii. Other than that, I'm waiting for the current games to drop in price. I've been told by many people that the only game that is currently worth full price is Zelda.

Other than that, I'm sticking with the VC and Gamecube games. I picked up Metroid Prime 2 at Target a couple weeks ago for $10.

How's that surgery game? My wife really wants to play that.
I haven't played it yet, but I'd love to try it out. I just can't justify $8.50 every time I want to try a Wii game. :(

Blockbuster Video < kick in the teeth.

/cry

I wish I had found out about that sale in time to buy the game. With Metroid Prime 3 coming out on Wii in a few months, I want to pick up Prime 1 and Prime 2 to catch up on the story.

Tek, you should be able to get both Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 at GameCrazy for less than $10 for both. (That's how I got mine.) There are two stores in your area you might want to check out.

Wow, I haven't rented from BB in a long time. Last time I checked they were $6.50, which was still more than Hollywood Video which was $5.50

Blockbusters game place seems to buy games for a fair price -- at least better than EB or Gamestop. They'll usually have signs posted behind the cash register where they'll post the hottest movies and games and what they're willing to pay for them. Often it's $30 or $35.
