Hello!

I am new to this forum, and to this group. I joined this forum because I found myself becoming more and more unhappy in WoW with my guild, mostly because of the atmosphere that was being promoted in guild chat (sex, drugs, alcohol, all from underage teenagers). I quietly decided that I needed to find a guild with Christian values and a family-friendly atmosphere, where I would not have to listen to some of the trash that comes across chat. Trying to discourage such talk was pretty much fruitless.

Unfortunately, there is no guild on Medihv that fits the vision of what I was looking for. Evidently, there used to be...but it has long since gone out of business.

Then I find this group. When I first found CGA and read the posts about a guild on Terenas called The Forgiven, I thought that maybe I had found what I have been looking for..but at that time character transfers were not possible.

I double-checked the status page today, and transfers are now possible from Medihv to Terenas if I am reading it correctly. I was wondering...is The Forgiven still taking additional members? Also....from what I have read, the atmosphere within the guild is family-based and Christian oriented -- I am not one to go overboard in chat, in fact, I rarely discuss religeon at all, but I would prefer to be in that environment, rather than in an environment where things like drugs, sex, and other negative things rule the discussion.

I have several characters spread across several servers, both alliance and Horde. My alliance characters are mostly on Medihv. I have a level 57 rogue (assassination/combat), level 46 mage (fire/arcane)), and a level 26 druid (feral specced).

I just wanted to test the waters here before committing to moving. Of course...I also have to talk my wife into it as well. Spending $75 on this sort of thing might not be something that she would support. If that is the case, I might just bring one or two over. Probably my rogue and mage. I have another druid on the horde side that is level 59.

By the way..all of my Horde characters are Tauren. I know that there is some discussion about Horde and Christian values with some groups...but of all of the horde races, Tauren is the probably the most misunderstood, and actually, by temperment, should have been counted in the ranks of the alliance.

In any case, I thought I would test the waters. Once again, I would appreciate any information on whether or not The Forgiven are still accepting members, and perhaps some insight as to what the guild environment is like. Also...if anyone knows of a Horde guild that promotes these same values...i would appreciate the information. Thank you for your time.

A Brother in Christ,

Zach

From my knowlege we are always accepting new members. I would suggest creating a charachter here just as a way to talk to one of our officers;rueage, esua, wend, jade, imcu, durruck, ryer and the list goes on. But one of those are usually on at a time, btw those are 3 individuals.

Howdy Zach:) My name is Angie, and it is always great to meet other brothers and sisters in Christ that are seeking a christian environment to play WoW in. My husband and I came to Terenas into The Forgiven from Bloodhoof for some of the same reasons that you are listing. There was not a christian guild on Bloodhoof that I could find, and we did an internet search and came up with couple, and picked The Forgiven because it was alliance on a PvE server, like Bloodhoof is.

If you prefer to play your horde characters, there is also another christian WoW guild in the CGA on the PvE server Cenarius called 'The Mustard Seed', which is a branch of the Tribe of Judah I believe, that is horde.

If you like PvP, there is a guild called 'The Redeemed' on the PvP server Stone Maul that plays alliance if I remember right.

The Forgiven is always accepting members and would love to have you, if you choose PvE alliance as your choice:) You will find none of the chatter you mentioned in guild chat, or amongst our members in any chat for that matter. We keep our standards high so that The Forgiven can be a haven for other christians to enjoy the game.

Our leader is Adam and his characters are Allanon, Esua, Zenoir, Ruage. His wife is Anita, and her characters are Wend, Weeamber, Jaid, Ryer. Both are on vacation this week and will not be playing. The other officer's you can contact in game and talk things over with would be John, who plays Deedlyt, Etoh, and Sakaki; Randy who plays Durruck, Herekitykity, and Kurdran; Shane who plays Ironwolfe, Perin, and Randall; Brian, who plays Stoneheart and Zael.

Have a blessed day,
Angie

Hey Zach.

I have been blessed to have only been a part of this guild and appreciate the atmosphere it provides for better enjoyment of this game we like to play. A number of us, including myself, actually have younger children who play in the guild. I know that some of us even limit the chat channels for our kids so that they only see guild chat. My wife is even considering starting a character. :) We would love to have you join us by either transfer or creating a new toon. You will find this group of people to be supportive and encouraging.

As has been posted, just watch for one of our officers to be on and send them a tell.

Good hearing from you and hope to see you in game. You sound like someone it would be nice to get to know.

Merril

Corrections: Zael is actually played by Mike A, an officer who is rarely on due to massive house construction IRL, but who we all love and eagerly welcome whenever we do see him. :) Brian's alt is Imcrazy the gnome rogue.

Questions: What, you mean your wife doesn't play WoW yet? Slacker... :) Poor Tinie needs more Gamin' Gals!!!
What's wrong with Taurens? For the Moo!!!!!

Answers: We'd love to have you :D But we'd also love for you to ask your wife first --- Spousal unity trumps WoW fun.
We don't tend to debate theology in /g a lot -- we are, after all, here to have fun, and debating theology is really not everyone idea of fun (except me). It does occaisonally happen, but it is not like it is mandatory :D
Issues surrounding the horde --- You will find that we aren't really hung up on a lot of the 'typical Christian guild' issues. We allow Warlocks, and Shadow Priests. We play Alliance probably more because they have Paladins, and Christian guys find being a "Holy Warrior" with a big mallet and a holy book running around smashing demons and undead to be, well, cool, than for any other reason. We are integrated with other guilds on the server, rather than being hidden, elitest, or reclusive, because it lets us spread God's love.

Which brings me to the bottom line in our guild --- It is ultimately about spreading love (which only comes from God) to those around us. If you are up for that, get over here :D

Oh, yeah, ask the missus. And we expect her characters here too :D

God bless :)

This is definately a G-rated guild. We allow our 12 yr old girls to play and chat in guild- at least the few times mom and dad aren't playing. :D You will enjoy the atmosphere, which is friendly, helpful, and uplifting.

Several of us have/had Horde toons. In fact my family cut their teeth as horde on pvp Mal'Ganis. Personally, I'd love to see a christian guild get started over there, but there isn't much interest.

Bottom line, you'll feel at home here.

Oh, btw, I just realized I'm signed in under my wife's ID. This is SamIam (Kirk); my toons are Samage, Samsomite, and Samman.

Yeah I have played the horde side on pvp servers a fair amount, and I have played on a number of different servers for a while (pvp, rp-pvp, rp, and pve), and have been a part of many guilds (the vast majority fall into the catagory you describe); however this guild has been by far and away the best experience I have had with any guild. Friendly, supportive, generous, fun conversations, ... well you get the idea. :D
