Well my old trust athlon xp 2400+ is finally bucking under the load of moern software(and my own usages). Cost was my overriding factor. Next was the need for multiple cores since i have begun to relaly push this system with doing many things at aonce it's falling down on me. Also with more and more games that i play being more thread focused than raw single core speed focused my second concern was multiple cores. My total budget was $400. nods..i am carrying my optical drive, case, and sound card over. Also i am going to be using my vista ultimate 64 bit package..then if things work out as i am guessing i'll be reformatting near the end of this year to install 7.
 
Yeah that is what i am waiting for too, not going to upgrade my computer until Windows 7 comes out. Although not much for me to upgrade, just going to get a better graphics card, blue ray drive, and a new power supply to handle all this stuff.
 
I just got my tracking information..it's already in frederick, md(12 miles form me) I could have it tomorrow if it wasn't sunday..i'm am not complaining though i'll have it on monday..:)
 
cost was the primary concern and that takes intel out right now..had to go amd as my budget was too tight to afford intel
