laptop help

well all my techers want me to start typing all my work so im in the need of a laptop. i was looking at this acer wich is amazing

look for a system with a 5400 rpm drive, also the onboard vid is lacking.

The acers are nice machines tho, but I think all the windows machines out right now are ugly.

What is wrong with going home to type, at some point your going to need to stop being a spend-o-holic

Umm I would take a look at IBM first and then a Dell second.

i have 2 a old 500mhz and a newer one a 2.0 ghz but tehre is problems with that

He asked for laptop suggestions. He didn't ask for advice as to what he should or shouldn't do with it.

my old 500mhz ran ubuntu it was nice i could open firefox faster on that than my dell xps

I dual boot on my laptop, linux will fit fine into a 20gb partition as long as you arnt doing weird stuff with it, my base is somewhere around 4gb + another 7 gigs of music and some ripped dvds.

make sure to check to make sure the admin account is passworded, ditch the oem image if you can.
