Europe Aion going Free-to-Play

Probably it's early in NA so not many of you have noticed this announcment, but there is news on EU main page that Aion EU will be transffered to Gameforge and become F2P in Feburary 2012.

Phenteo confirmed that Aion NA won't be touch and will be still under NCSoft West care and still be P2P...

I wonder if this is the direction Aion NA will go as the player base shrinks? Aion NA is down to four half-dead servers. I wonder how low it can go before they pull the plug.

I'm glad to see this happen. I don't see NA servers lasting much longer than Europe, esp after SWTOR and GW2 release.
NCSoft has made their hundreds of millions off of Aion.
At least the headaches won't be quite so bad if it's FTP.
