A poem

I'm submitting this to my college's literary arts magazine. It is sort of a lament to a very special person who seems to have slowly faded away from my life.

Your enchanting voice penetrates my heart.
Your hazel eyes; I can see them.
Your graceful blonde hair soars in the wind
Where have you gone my sweet one?

Those days long ago seem so much closer.
Our days as children have long since past.
Our times together will remain with me always.
They will forever last.

There are so many words I could have said, my dear.
So many sweet words untold.
Now I have no one to share with.
I have no hand to hold.

Erica, dear Erica.
Who's feelings I could never tell.
Who brightened all my dreadful days.
Who complemented me so well.

Our paths have joined and split.
And joined and split again.
You've always been the quest of my life.
Is this a quest I can win?

These words that I have spoken are geniune.
These words are completely true.
Remember me, my precious Erica.
I will always remember you.
