    Gay Role Models

I'm not questioning your the strength of your faith, nor am I questioning the validity of your opinions. I'm asking a simple question: What evidence have you seen that proves beyond doubt homosexuals are the subject of choice?

    Gay Role Models

Any proof of that? And why make exceptions to religions when they are choices?

Proof that life did NOT come from a primordialsoup

I'm open to the possibility of a creator or something. Just not the Judeo-Christian God or the Islamic God. If evidence appears that point to a divinity I would change my mind. As such, currently there is insufficient evidence to convince me.

Proof that life did NOT come from a primordialsoup

"You atheists"? I apologise, as it seems I have stepped on your toes. Please tell me where I presume to know everything/claim science knows and answers everything. I apologise if my response made you angry, but the quote was misleading at best and an outright lie at worst. Your questions seem...

Proof that life did NOT come from a primordialsoup

Cheers, Marcy! And thanks for the quote! science requires that assertions be proven, because otherwise, a scientist could declare that Santa exists, and this, according the quote, would have to be accepted as fact until 'proven otherwise'. But we highly non-random combinations of...

Proof that life did NOT come from a primordialsoup

It's been a while. I know this seems like a pot-shot, but you might want to look more closely at Lee Strobel's work. Another Case Not Made Sorry for the drive-by, but you should consider the fact the Strobel isn't entirely honest in his book. The majority of his interviews were with...

Do you believe that humans are evil?

Assuming "inherently evil" means we are born evil, are evil and our base intentions and desires are evil, why is it that the majority of mankind does good? Why do people make it their goal to assist others? If we were inherently evil, wouldn't we only be good for a reward?

Do you believe that humans are evil?

So God created and engineered a 'risk factor?' Why? Why bother at all? For some kind of amusement? Nothing new there. According to Judaism and the Muslim faith, same thing really. Think about it: Going to hell for not getting the particulars of your faith straight. It's quite tiresome really...

Do you believe that humans are evil?

Many people are open to self criticism. Just because they don't like being criticised doesn't mean they can't and won't. Lot's of people do really good things, but get upset at doing bad things, an example being when you feel pride at doing something good and being upset when you do something...

Do you believe that humans are evil?

Because they don't know any better. I never said we wre born angels and perfect. If we were born evil and filthy and cruel, how on Earth would civilisations without Christianity, or even the Judeo-Christian God have flourished? People do bad things for many reason, but rarely because they are...

    Do you think creationism

Don't see why creationism shouldn't be included in the curriculum. It's a theory too. I firmly believe evolution, and I would be insulted to be forced to learn creationism as an undeniable fact. By the same token, wouldn't it be unfair to to the same to a creationist?

Do you believe that humans are evil?

If humans were inherently evil, why do non-believers engage in acts of charity and self-sacrifice like blood donation etc.? I think people commit evil acts because they feel inclined either to protect what they are used to/comfortable with (using violence and cheating to preserve a social...

    couple questions

Is it right to want to be with someone because you want a reward/ fear a punishment? Don't forget, the heaven/hell thing is a big part of the belief equation. How many people would believe without it?

    Imposing Beliefs

When humans kill those who are different and believe differently, they are evil. Yet when God does it, it is right? As much as you can say God can do anything He wants, why should He expect us to behave when he didn't do it himself, especially in the OT?

    Imposing Beliefs

Something that was recently mentioned in RE was why non-christians are so riled when they are threatened with something they do not believe (i.e. why be afraid of hell when you don't believe it is there?) If a complete stranger walks up to you an says he will break into your house and kill you...

    Why???

Two reasons really. My first was really to put across my views and see what happened. I believe Gen changed a previous thread, given the current nature of civility, but I pretty much fell into a great deal of those categories mentioned about fundamentalist atheism. I've changed now, thanks to...

    Homosexuality: Lifestyle Choice?

It is quite a difficult argument, but I will attempt to argue nevertheless, sorry. But the question is, what makes a person DWELL on details about a girl, but not a man? I cannot say I have been attracted to men because I KNOW I am heterosexual, mainly cos I've had crushes on girls but have...
