10 Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the[a] propitiation for our sins.

As a definition of love it doesn't get much more simple than this. What is more because He loved us that much we can love Him, and hopefully those around us. What a lifetime blessing His love can be.
