One thing I have heard from many people about the game, is that they say that you do not have to put a lot of time into the game to be good at it, you just have to be good at it, that it does not take your life away like WoW does/did (before 2.3). Is this true, or...

They are all MMO's and MMO's require lots of time, it's just the nature of the beast; but how you use the time in the game reflects on if it has taken your life away (10 minutes on a quest of 45 minutes on it).

No, to be "good" at WoW, it doesn't take any skill for the most part...just time, and repetition...
