Patch 1.2 Test Realm

Greetings!

The time has come to once again take to the field of battle on the Public Test Server. Starting Tuesday, February 17th, players will be able to copy characters to the Public Test Server and check out all the exciting new changes coming your way in Game Update 1.2. To top that off, we will be launching the beta test phase of the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning official forums!

During this phase of the Public Test we will be focusing on the changes to Realm vs. Realm combat and Career balance changes. We will introduce the two new Careers, the Choppa and the Slayer during a later phase of the Public Test Process.

On Wednesday, February 18th at 8pm EST we will be conducting a large scale Tier 4 Open Field Realm vs. Realm test on the PTS and we need your assistance! Bring your friends to the PTS and be amongst the first to experience the new Zone Domination system in a focused player test. Be sure to log on early to join the premade guilds (points of contact for invites will be announced in game) for the night.

To access the Public Test Server, locate the new patcher: testpatch.exe in your main Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning directory. This file will be automatically downloaded when the Public Test Server is opened.

Simply run the testpatch.exe file to start the patcher. Just like the live game, it will download everything automatically, just click play and you're good to go!

Creating a copy of your Live character to play on the Public Test Server is easy, too. Visit your Mythic Account Center, login, and click on the Character Transfer Button above your Game Account profiles. Then, follow the instructions to the Character Transfer Center. Once you are in the Character Transfer Center you will see three options at the bottom. Select "character copy" and then fill in the information on the next page to choose the character you wish to copy.

Once you have confirmed the copy you can view the status of the transfer as it is processed. Please note that you may be required to change the name of your character to avoid naming conflicts. If for any reason there is an error with your transfer, you can click on the "More Details" option to find out why the Character Copy was unsuccessful.

To log onto the official forum’s beta simply go to http://forums.warhammeronline.com and sign in using your WAR product account name (the same one used to log into the game) and password. You will then be asked to create a user name and provide a valid email address. Please note, registration for the Official Forums Beta will not be open until the PTS is open.

Update 2/16/2009 6:54 PM EST: Clarified the Open RvR test to specify Tier 4.

Also note that the date was pushed back from Tuesday to Thursday for stability issues.

I think this may have also had a part in the stealth patch a few days ago - they added the testpatch.exe so we could take part in this.

If you plan to participate, please post your intention here so all those interested can join up and work together. However, I cannot participate, as I'll be at work.
