no admins....

its 4:22 EST and not a single admin is on aim that is there.... gg on keeping our server well modd'ed. i have the condump but that doesnt do much for voice chats. well what/ever
 
LoJ, what was the purpose behind this message?  Just because someone caused trouble on the servers you have to come here and start things?  Whats up?  Something else bothering you?

There is no way humanly possible to man these servers 24x7 so don't assume that we are here to do that.  And you post here, what does it serve?  Did you pray before you typed and sent it to make sure that is how God wanted you to handle this situation.  Nope, you acted out of anger and that is no way to communicate.

So just to get this straight, you decided the best thing would be to vent your frustrations here instead of dropping an admin an email with details on the situation?  You say you have a condump, has Elite received it yet?

Really, I just don't get it.  Someone help me understand why we even have a CS chapter as it brings with it 99% of the problems.  I just can't believe all the baggage this game brings to this community.  The hatred that are in peoples hearts that play this game and the pure disdain for following simple rules.  The Bible is pretty clear on what to do with things that don't bear fruit, you cut it down.

Wait, that is exactly why we do this.  It is because of those lost souls that play this game.  Isn't it?  Or is it just for us to have a closed community that when we shut out everyone that isn't like us we can turn on ourselves with hateful comments?
 
um plank PLEASE dont get mad for saying this but. THeservers is how we get about 1/5 of our people and that is how some of us talk to other tojers so. we only hear about the bad parts but uselly it is good and fine no matter what the time so uselly it is fine and good and im sure i could get other people to agree with so ya

listen we all need a bit more patience, i mean i just got back home from a conference and i see this, our mission is the great commission and by useing the servers we can try and do that. now i agree i get a bit irratated when we have some hackers and people who dont shut up. but i say keep the 2 servers up as i plan to make TOJ#3 (or if u guys dont want me to put it under toj thats fine) a private server with some limitations as to try and keep the other servers healthy.

no Zealot you are right we can not have everyone as admins. we have an excellent admin staff right now. infact about 3 mins after i posted this Exodus jumped on and took care of the problem players. If elite still would like me to send him the condump i shall (or anyadmin for that).

Plank what worries me is the summer is here. 4 PM EST on a friday afternoon and we have grief players/ smacktards  on the server and we are unable to find an admin. What does that say about our server? we have rules that we do not enforce?

My biggest thing is summer, and keeping the server well adminned. We do not know when someones son/daughter will be playing. Not to pick on anyone, but Kidan how would you feel if your son was playing and people where using inapporiate language, behavior and belitting his Savior, and mocking your religion, and there is nothing he can do about it.

Dont take it from a gamers perspective, try to take it from the parents who's kids are playing the game, or the youth ministers students that may be directed to our servers?

We do an excellent job at keeping it well adminned (good job guys ) i really think that we need to just keep it up during the summer and try to server in this ministery with the excellence that Paul servered the early church with. We can either set the standard for what Christian gaming server should be, or we can just fall in line and settle for mediocore. I dont know about you but i would rather set the standard of exellence and do my absolute best to please God, than man.

First off, what this says about our server is that we are a thorn in the side of the devil and he would do whatever possible to disrupt and try to ruin a good thing.

Second, whenever we can, we will ensure that the players on our server are following our rules we have set. This does not guarantee that problem players will join and say/do offensive things.  The game itself does not allow for complete monitoring of all chat and voice comm.  Our rules are reactive not proactive.  That means we deal with problems as they arise.  We have a complete support structure setup for this.  Just look at the thread posted at the top of the forum about hacking.  Trust me that when we receive credable evidence of rules being broken on our server, the offender will be dealt with.

Third, as I have already stated, we will do whatever we can to ensure our rules are not being violated but we can not take the place of a well informed parent who is proactive in the life of their child.

Make no mistake, we are not a babysitter or content filter.  We are on the front lines of a major battle for lost souls out there.  The online gaming community is a community built on the assumption that you are anonymous because you are just an IP address on a network.  This assumption breeds with it inappropriate behaviour that you would not normally see in more social environments.  How many people would go into a church and post pornagraphic images, swear or be vulgar during the middle of a church service?  But that is very commonplace in the online gaming world.  That is what we are standing up against and saying is not right.

Parents need to be proactive in the life of their child and insure that they can handle this appropriatly.  That the child understands why those actions are wrong.  It is the parents who need to determine if their child can not handle the material they may see, then the child should not play the game.

Parents should also feel encouraged to contact the staff should they find something inappropriate on one of our services.  Our staff is made up of adults that are very committed to this ministry and want to bring gamers to Christ just as much as we want to see fellowship and community grow with our current members.  We will do whatever we can to make sure that happens.
 
agreed with plank, we cant be a baby sitter etc, and ya know these kids are gonna have to make their own choices eventually. and we do have pretty good admin services.
 
bottom line, we will be available as much as possible to admin the server, so be patient when we aren't there and just do what you did, get a condump with steam ids.
 
Also, please keep in mind that Counter-Strike is a "M" Mature rated game, so it is intended for players that are 17+ (Although I must admit I started playing the game when I was about 14). Given that, you have to keep in mind that its not always the content of the game itself, but also the content of the enviroment.
