I've got a sweet tooth

Survivor is terribly easy nowadays. Between Kilroy's boxing and storybooks and consumables and 7 heroes and daily quests and steroids it's hard to imagine how anyone dies these days!

It certainly is more fun than farming Kurz faction too.

Storybooks - I had not thought of that. I did a ton of those getting the different titles.

If I remember correctly, some of those were pretty difficult. Maybe I'm thinking of the hard mode books.

There are safe, but boring, ways to Suvivor too. Like vanquishing an easy area over and over, such as Plains of Jarin. And there are those who have done it by 10 trips into FoW too. And with the chance to restart the count after death there is none of the nagging pressure found in the old school ways. Get a bunch of LIghbringer Scrolls and find a place to use them, that speeds up the process too.

I'm partial to the FoW runs. I even logged in a second account and dragged that character along (6 hero fullrun) for the extra couple chest drops at the end.

I ended up running in normal mode for the added safety, plus using a consumable or two here or there (essence) to speed the run. Not necessary, but certainly a major convenience.

Once you get that hero team put together that just rolls through the entire area, a full run in an hour or less is very doable. It's as safe a survivor method as any IMO. HM kilroy with lightbringer scrolls can max survivor in under 3 hours, but it felt too grind-ish to me.

What team of heroes do you use in FoW - either pm or post - I'd like to know. For my vanquishing titles I used a combo - Spiritway and Sabway.

As a necro, I ran as AP caller with mark of pain. 3 discord necros more for the minion wall than the single spike of discord. That was mainly there to fuel my soul reaping, which kept my energy up so I could roll without ever having to really stop to regen. A single spirit spammer, a panic mesmer specifically for the burning forest area, and either 2 damage dealers or a damage and healer, depending on how much I thought I needed. The more confident I got as I ran through multiple times, had my route planned, etc, the less dedicated healing I needed. Roj monks also work well.

The combo of mark of pain with a Vow of Strength dervish would blow up groups in single spikes when everything timed right. Again, that was something specific to my build and what I could bring along to put out a ton of damage. A guildmate swears by mark of rodgort + barrage/pet rangers with the hellhounds to trigger the fire. Either way, I tried to focus either on physical or armor-ignoring damage as a whole team, rather than try too much mixing. Physical or physical-triggered doesn't do well unless in mass amounts.

The main keys are caster shutdown with hard interrupts for the groups of monks and the burning forest with all the meteor shower spamming hydras - so if youb have a favorite method to tackle them, go for it.

On escorting the griffons: once you clear the wraiths and are about to do the griffin quest, go ahead and flag your heroes to the first spawn point of the griffin-killing group. They may as well start taking them out as soon as they pop up. Normal mode shouldn't be as difficult if they take a little damage, but keep an eye on if you need to let them regen a bit before continuing.

Thanks - that's helpful. I'm a fire ele - so I do a lot of damage myself. I can set my heroes as a discord group - and I hardly go out anymore without a Gwen as panic and Tahlkora as protect. I have room for an RoJ, too.

I have to relearn the best path - any good suggestions online you can link me to?

Never could find a set path/walkthrough online I considered "best" for me, so I set my own path based on how it felt.

1. Clear the area near Rastigan, and then his path to the Tower of Courage. Don't take that quest until you're standing outside the door.

2. Take the "wailing lord" quest from him once the tower is clear, and clear your way to the battle field.

3. Clear the area near the tents on the battlefield to spawn 2 quest givers, taking both.
4. Complete Army of Darkness (dragon liches and Priest of Menzies in center of battlefield.)
5. Proceed to and clear Temple of War, taking the Forgemaster's quests (all of them). Also grab Lord Taeres quest on the way out.
6. Go out the back of the temple to Nimros the hunter (straight ahead instead of going through spider cave). Take the shard wolf quest and kill the first one now behind you.
7 clear out the spider cave, then go a bit further on the beach to take out that shard wolf. Go back the way you came to clear the last spider spawns (they drop shards).
8. Head straight out of the spider cave entrance, then head to your right to Khobay the Betrayer.
9. Heading back, go again to your right up the hill and clear everything around the Tower of Courage (another shard wolf here). At this point, you can either run back to the temple to spawn and wait and escort the Tower Mage to the tower of courage, or do this later.
10. Go down the hill in front of you toward the gaggle of patrolling hydras and storm riders. Take the quest from Miko the Unchained, and plow ahead through the burning forest. This will probably be your spot where you might die, so don't over-aggro.

11. Keeping in the same theme as before, head to the right (after turning in your quest) and head back to the battlefield. Take out the shard wolf on the way across toward the wailing lord forest.
12. Clear the forest on the left side, then start pulling the banshees across. You want to flag heroes so they/and minions don't gank the wailing lord.
13. Clear new spawns around the wailing lord, but don't. Take his quest just yet. Take a left back across his bridge and a little bways forward, take out the shard wolf.
14. (Optional) flag heroes to the first clearing in the forest straight ahead from the wailing lord bridge.
15. Take the griffin quest, go right, and pick up the griffins. Hurry forward and take out the spawns on the way out of the forest. Escort them to the right back toward the first tower where Rastigan is. If one of them takes considerable damage during a fight. ?et them regen before going on.
16. Take out the last shard wolf, then head toward the temple. If you skipped finishing tower of courage earlier, go do that.

With everything cleared, go turn in any quests for rewards you still have left. Total quest xp is 100k, so kills xp is just bonus at that point.

Wow - that is more than helpful - thanks again.

The only other thing I need to know from any of you who are up on survivors: what is the quickest bail strategy? Once I get into it I'd rather bail than have to start over.

Never go in without knowing your way out....

Keep an eye on your lag. If you're starting to lag, play it safe and try again later.

Otherwise, fast-mapping to the guild hall was always my best bet.

ah - I think I remember someone else telling me that a long time ago - probably Ursen. He is a survivor major.
