How are mad dog video cards?

I noticed CompUSA has a Mad Dog GeForce4 Ti 4200 64MB on sale/rebate for $79.99. What reputation does Mad Dog have as a video card manufacturer? I still don't think I'm buying a new card until maybe Summer time, but this price sure caught my eye.

hmm read about them in a Maximum PC mag but I don't remember the response. You can always use the nvidia reference drivers so I would go for it.

I'm just wondering if the parts are possibly junky.

But you bring up an interesting point. So do video card manufacturers supply their OWN drivers? Will they work with the nVidia reference drivers?

the only hardware failures I'm aware of are the fans which can be replaced for $10. Many vendors have their drivers but I just go straight to nvidia.

I'm with these people. If you're getting an nVIDIA or an ATI card, grab the detenators or the catalysts respectively. The manufacturers drivers are normally junk in comparison.
