And horde. It'd be pretty tough to stack enough haste to do it as an alliance player. The OP said he used Troll Zerking (racial ability) to do it.

There are screenshots around of alliance hunters having it. The taming cast time can be reduced down to enough time for any hunter to tame it, troll berserking just helps.

Th wolf dies in about 7 seconds no matter what after being summoned. Tame beast is 20 seconds long It is also not CC'able in any way.

Same here actually. I think its great fun for those who want to put forth the effort, but a wolf just wouldn't be useful to me. It does look cool though.
