Redeemed - Warhammer In-Game Guild Ranks

Benevolent Dictator -
Type of player: any (achiever/social/spiritual)
number of guild leaders: 1
activity level: medium-high

Description: Benevolence is not an easy thing to carry out whilst being a dictator! Although the Benevolent Dictator for Life (BD4L) is the leader of the guild in name, the various functions needed to be provided are too numerous for one person to handle. He/She must be willing to adapt the guild functions to best serve its current players. He/she is expected to represent the guild from within and without as a representative of Christ and exude the qualities of a deacon/deaconess as described in 1st Timothy Chapter 3.

A Benevolent Dictator will:
  • appoint officers based on other officer input.
  • understand all of the officer functions in order to help facilitate the proper function of the guild.
  • ensure officers are equipped to perform their roles, changing the guild structure, positions and roles as needed.
  • resolve disputes and consult other officers as needed.
  • offer assistance to leaders and members where needed.
  • serve as an acting ambassador, in the event that there are not enough ambassadors.

Vice Benefactor -
Type of player: any (achiever/social/spiritual)
number of VBs: 1+
activity level: medium+ (He/She would inherit the guild leader title if the position were to default)

Description: If a guild leader is absent for 30 days, Warhammer automatically elects the next active player with the highest rank. There have been cases where the leadership was passed on to incorrect members or players that went inactive and caused a bottleneck in guild leadership activity. Also, real life is considered higher priority and one person should not be relied upon to remain active and visible within the guild at all times. This position is here to allow for some leeway for guild leaders (and vice leaders) to juggle family and fun and allow for others to fill in the gaps. Like the BD4L, the Vice Benefactor must be mindful that he/she is a representative of Christ and exude the qualities of a deacon/deaconess as described in 1st Timothy Chapter 3.

A Vice Benefactor will:
  • partner up with and assist the BD4L.
  • serve as acting guild leader if the BD4L is on announced temporary leave. Temporary leave could be
due to tests/finals, taking a limited break, handling important family issues requiring a hiatus from the game.
  • convey all non-trivial disputes handled by the Vice Benefactor to the BD4L.
  • not usurp the role of the guild leader when making final decisions.
  • be depended upon to be the next guild leader. However, he/she may elect not to be the next BD4L and call a vote for the election of a new one.
  • serve as an acting ambassador, in the event that there are not enough ambassadors.

Ambassador -
Type of player: social
number of Ambassadors: 2+
activity level: medium, if the only ambassador. (minimal-medium) if another ambassador has been assigned.

Description: Do you love the social aspects of the guild and love helping people? Guilds are basically social groups, when it comes down to it. But even within a guild, you will find inner social groups. It could be the guild officers. It could be mini-groups of players who typically play amongst themselves or are family members. Ambassadors will serve as the liaison function between these social groups. It does not require a player to be an expert gamer. Filling an alliance officer position and representing the guild across guilds would be optional. A social task like this is an evolving and ongoing activity. An ambassador will be able to split up the duties amongst other ambassadors. In the event that there are not enough ambassadors, the Vice Benefactor and Benevolent Dictator will fill this role.

An Ambassador will:
  • be in communication with the Raid and Realm Heralds. He/She will assist these officers in the promotion of events by advertising them in the guild chat, on the guild welcome message and personally invite people to events who may not normally participate in them.
  • gather information about new players from Recruit Heralds.
  • keep tabs on the guild vaults and advertise donated equipment. An ambassador would not have to maintain the vaults.
  • act as the eyes of the guild, alerting its officers of any potential issues. For example, if a player states that he wants to learn more about RvR - can put him/her in touch with a Realm Herald. Another example would be to alert the officer of a re-occuring issue experienced by guild members.

Realm Herald -
Type of player: achiever/social
number of Realm Heralds: 1+
activity level: medium+

Description:
Obtaining end game equipment requires either being successful in Realm vs Realm combat or running end game dungeons. There is a lot that is needed in order to be a successful warband leader. He/She needs a cooperative and competent group of players. He/She needs to know where to strike next to take out the enemy or defeat a keep before the opposing realm has time to react. A guild will level quickly if a competent realm leader can claim a keep, upgrade it and prevent the opposing realm from taking it for a long period of time.

A Realm Herald will:
  • schedule raids on keeps, realm objectives and/or scenarios.
  • be in charge of setting up teams/warbands.
  • post links on RvR related subjects and train members to improve warband cohesiveness.
  • teach eligible players how to claim keeps, upgrade and defend them.
  • evaluate raid success, player input, and modify raid setups as needed.
  • manage tactics on standards in preparation of oRvR events. For example, changing the warrior standard to use spirit resist for an expected sorc Pit of Shades defense.
  • serve as an alliance officer and set up schedules with our alliance(s), if applicable.
  • recommend tactics for purchase to the BD4L.

Raid Herald -
Type of player: achiever
number of Raid Heralds: 1+
activity level: medium+

Description:
Obtaining end game equipment requires either being successful in Realm vs Realm combat or running end game dungeons. In War, there are atleast a dozen raid instances. Each instance offers different types of equipment increasing in stats, utility and/or ward power. The most common raid dungeons are Sigmar's Crypts, Warpblade tunnels, the Lost Vale, Gunbad and Bastion Stair. A Raid Herald will typically form up groups and warbands related to PvE elements.

A Raid Herald will:
  • schedule and manage periodic raids. Usage of the event signup function is encouraged. Allowing signup overflow for 6-man raids in the event of a no-show is recommended.
  • teach members how to run raids effectively. This includes posting raid links up on the forums, as needed.
  • learn and run PQs.
  • evaluate raid success, player input, and modify raid setups as needed.
  • manage tactics on standards in preparation of the event. For example, changing the warrior standard to use spirit resist for a boss with high spirit dmg attack.
  • recommend tactics for purchase to the BD4L.

Recruit Herald -
Type of player: social
number of Recruit Heralds: 2+
activity level: medium if the only recruiter. (minimal-medium) if another recruiter has been assigned.

Description:
An introductory function. Recruit Heralds serve as a guild greeter and invites new players into the guild. The position is perfect for casual players who love to assist newbies and for those who are interested in becoming an officer but don't want to take on anything too involved right away.

A Recruit Herald will:
  • assist new members with the ToJ application process, directing them on where to apply.
  • contact new members of the guild, whether they have invited them in personally or not.
  • make sure that new players feel comfortable by fielding initial questions about the guild or game.
  • educate new users about the forums, web site, ventrillo server, and facebook group.
  • promote a new player's Main, if they've decided, so that he/she can access the guild vaults.
  • alert the Ambassador(s) of the new recruit. Unlike an ambassador, Recruit Heralds do not have any official duties after the new player has been welcomed.

Honorary Officers -
Type of player: achiever/social/spiritual
number of Honorary Officers: 1+
activity level: variable

Description:
An Honorary officer is any person that doesn't have a specific role assigned to them within the game but provides an important service to the guild socially, spiritually or technologically. The more active Honorary Officers, however, could be called upon to help out others with certain in-game functions. An Honorary Officer may also be an inactive officer who would be immediately eligible for an in-game position upon return.

An Honorary Officer will do one or more of the following:
  • lead bible studies.
  • organize group prayer sessions.
  • provide counselling for guild members.
  • manage information technology aspects.
  • assist randomly.

Activity Level Definitions: -
  • minimal (consistent or 2 days/week),
  • medium (4-5 hours or 4 days/week),
  • high (9 hours+ or 5 days/week)
